Karin provided this recipe. She and I shared a flat for eight years and then ended up getting married within two weeks of each other. During all those eight years never did she make me these rusks, so how can I believe this is a good recipe, huh? I suppose the fact that she’s actually a good cook might be trusted….

10 cups self raising flour
3 teaspoons baking powder
2 cups bran
(optional nuts/muesli, Karen adds about a 3/4 cup muesli)
375g marg or butter
1 c milk
2 c milk (once the rest is melted together)
Mix dry ingredients with liquid.
Bake in a greased oven tray about 2 inches (5 cm) deep in a preheated oven at 170 – 180 for 45 min
